I have been using dvd2svcd, tpmgenc to modify headers to vcd, then vcdeasy to burn the cd images. Regardless of the parameters I tweak I cannot get the cd's to play properly in my panasonic RP56 player. To the users who state they got this to work can you please tell me what programs you used (with key parameter settings) to create the original image, modify the headers, and burn the resulting image? Also, does the disk type matter or can any be used?

    Tried and failed with...

    VCD, VCD non-standard, 352x480 resolution, 480x480 resoltion, VCD2.0, VCD1.0.......

Everytime I get the following sequence on my player Video at full speed, no audio for 2 seconds, pause, replays video with audio horrible stutter. If I pause/stop and play again I get the same thing again.

After much gnashing of teeth and pulling out hair I have finally managed to get it too work. My question now is: was it worth the bother?

    There were two fundamental problems:
    1. The blank Phillips CDR80 40X disks would not work with any combination whereas the blank Memorex CDR80 12X would. Anybody know why this is and if there is a recommended or preferred manufacturer?

    2. Bitrates above 1600 make the audio and video jump. Using CBR with all bitrate values set to 1600 produces a reasonable quality playable disc. CBR with 2000 bitrate jumps very slightly so my question is: Given that I appear to be limited to a BR of 1600 what is the best combination in TMPGenc to produce the highest quality audio/video and secondly, will the end result be worth the effort?

    3. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Panasonic RP56 and did you come to the same conclusion?
