  1. I ripped "The Enforcer" (for backup), and generated a project file using DVD2AVI. Then I loaded it into TMPGEnc and selected the SVCD template. When it finishes encoding, I try to run it through vcdxbuild, and I get this error:

    ++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:01.1a]

    What is wrong with the MPEG2 and how do I fix it?

    I'm trying to create a 2-VCD backup, with MPEG2 at 480x480 or 720x480 VBR in a standard VCD disc structure (I know my DVD player/computer will play that).

  2. fyi,
    tmpgenc seems to generate chinese SVCD type scan offsets, which differ from IEC/philips SVCD scan offsets... that's what this warning says...

    you can either re-multiplex your mpeg or let vcdxbuild fix them on the fly with

    <option name="update scan offsets" value="true" />

  3. Hehe, geez...Chinese offsets, go figure. That little tidbit should be PROMINENTLY posted somewhere on this site, I think.

  4. Oh yeah, any thoughts on how good a job vcdxbuild does on the fly?

  5. it tries to do as good as it can at the cost of using up more cpu time...

    I haven't got any reports about it, thus I've only been able to test it on small mpeg2 streams and compare it scan offsets produced by bbmpeg...
