  1. Does anyone know of any simple way to rip just the audio and video from a dvd and copy it without having to worry about the chapters or original menu ? I am looking to make quick copies and burn it to have the entire movie play in full without having to worry about keeping original chapters and such.

  2. Here's how I do it. Dead simple. Use DVD decrypter to extract VOB files to hard drive and remove coding. No need to extract IFO file.
DVD decrypter will highlight required files. press "go"
You will then have VOB files on hard drive already chopped into 1Gb sections ready for encoding to MPEG2, but not quite.
TMPGEnc will encode the VOB files without sound, so another step necessary. Feed each file separately into DVD2AVI otherwise you will end up with 1 long "incompatible with DVD" file. Export file. This will create a sound file and a small file with .d2v suffix. Do this for all VOB files, usually four or 5. Takes about 1 minute per file.
You will be prompted to enter video file and sound file for encoding to MPEG2 by TMPGEnc. For video select .d2v and for sound select audio file from same directory. Prior to this you may need to use a sound editor to turn up volume as I have found the sound to be quiet, or you can increase the sound level at the time of encoding in TMPGEnc.
At the end of this you will have 5 files in MPEG2 format ready for putting onto DVD.
Write your own menu to play files sequentially in DVD authoring software, and burn DVD.

  3. Thank you man! i am going to try it out! One question is, how long does it take for the program to convert it to mpeg2 ? I havent tried yet but i am going to tonight after work.. it sucks being here at work and not being able to practice. I am going to get an external burner to take with me to work so i can mess around.

If your going to play these files sequentially why not just make 1 mpeg2 file? In DVD2AVI select all the vob files in order and then you would have 1 *.d2v file and 1 *.wav file. Then when you encode in TMPGEnc you would end up with 1 mpeg2 file and you dont have to worry about getting them to play sequentially or bother messing with DVD2AVI & TMPGEnc 5 different tiimes.

  5. that sounds like hard work a lot of movies can be copied by using
dvd decrypter select streaming uncheck what you don`t want
when done ifoedit get vts sectors then dvd extras and strip it
when that is done burn with nero
you now have dvd that you stick in your player and it plays no menu`s
but you can still skip chapters and only takes couple of hours to do
