  1. i have ripped a dvd and then use tmpge to demultiplex the files. problem is after i demultiplex each file only 2 of the 7 files have the extention m2v after it....what are the others??? i tried to rename them also to m2v but that didn't work...they played fine in the file player but dvdit gives me a runtime error on those files..........

  3. in the list that was given from tmpge was about 3 or 4 files with check marks....only 1 from each vob file was listed as video...the others were audio... i managed to figure out witch ones were the correct audio i needed...in the first vob file it listed video and gave a description to the right of it...when i went to the second vob file it just had video, no description...i selected that file but after the demultiplex there was no extention...i gave it an m2v extention and it played in the media player but thats are far as it will go...runtime error in dvdit....so what can this file be or can i use this file in dvdit? the first already named m2v file works in dvdit.........

Why did you select all those tracks when you ripped. You could have selected only the ones you wanted. You probably also picked up subtitles and FBI or Interpol warnings or some other such video, promo videos etc....

  6. i ripped the vob files...i didn't thinnk you can extract what you want out of each individual vob file.......i thought the vob file contains eveerything inluding all audio tracks then you have to extract what files from the vob you want.........

    What did you use.

See on left panel of this page...Other...tools...Decoders/dvdripping

    I personally like smartripper.

If you click on movie in smartripper you will get just the main movie. You can then choose specific chapters if you want, it's up to you.

You can select files and get all the vobs also.

Also could try CladDVD and DVD Decrypter.

I just noticed by the date you joined and the number of posts you have written that you are not new.

I hope I didn't present information that was obvious to you by misunderstanding your problem.
