I am trying to convert some footage that I have on DVD to a workable format so that I might re-edit the video in Final Cut Pro. I started by ripping the disc with Mac The RIPPER. I ripped the title only, as thats all i need. This gave me the VOB file, that I then put into Compressor and converted using H.264 conversion to a .mov file. This all worked fine, but the probelm is that there is no sound. When I look back at the Video and Audio TS folders I cannot find any sound files.

    Do VOB files carry sound?

If not, where are the sound files from a ripped DVD located?

And how do I bring the sound along with the video when I convert the VOB file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the MTR Video_TS files play with Apple's DVD Player? If they do then its something you are doing after the rip.

    You could try MPEG StreamClip.

I would DEFINITELY try MpegStreamclip, and open the VOB
there. Fix TimeCode Breaks, and then export the file as a
Quicktime .mov with the audio set to 44.1khz, and the Video
I would use the Apple Motion Jpeg-A codec, NOT h.264.

Then you can simply import the Quicktime .mov file into
FCP with no hassles. This has worked for me time and time
    again and hasn't failed yet.

Compressor probably flattened the file, rather than demux/mux on
the fly like MpegStreamclip or ffmpegx does.
    Compressor is much better
for taking RAW format ( QT .mov, DV Stream) and making it FINAL,
(Mpeg-2 [VOB], Mpeg-4) not taking FINAL and
making it (another form of) FINAL.

When I'm not here, Where can I be found?
