Since I did a search for ATI in the "Capturing" section and got this:

    Search found 1550 matches

I thought it would be a "little" quicker to get my answer this way.

    My question is:

I am considering purchasing the TV-Wonder. I have done some searching
on the card and have seen mention of the MMC is not all that great. I
have also heard that "PowerVCR" is much better. Now, when I install
the card, is there an option to just install the basic set of drivers so that
my PC sees the card, then use PowerVCR for the rest of the functions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

P.S. That would be the PCI regular version of the TV-Wonder.

    evening megadeus324,

I don't have experience w/ powervcr, cause it never worked for me in my system
setup. But, I do have the ATW card on my 1st pc and basically, you just
proceed to install the drivers. Nothing wrong w/ installing the MMC softare
too. Probably will be required for a complete or correct installation, but
weather true or not, its probably best to install it anyways. YOu can
experienment w/ it at your leasure. MMC isn't really all that bad. In fact,
I've never had any problems w/ it to date, if memory serves me correctly.

    Powervce is real-time capture to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 software app. I don't
recall it their being any mention of it including capping to *.AVI

Also, don't forget, that sometimes, you have to fiddle w/ your audio being
recorded, by turning on your LINE-IN audio in your audio app. Sometimes,
it gets turne off every so often, but that all depends on each ind. pc setup.

But, in addition to powervcr, definately look into the MMC as well, cause it
may work perfectly well in your setup - which is why you shouldn't always go
with what one person says, unless you have enough grain-of-salt available
