  1. Any ideas why this is happening? When it freezes the system, everything freezes. No error message is produced until the system is fired back up (I'm using Windows XP).

I'm pretty sure it's not the capture software causing the problem. It happens no matter what software I use (Virtualdub, MMC, PowerVCR, Windows Movie Maker).

It used to freeze quick when I was using Windows 98. WindowsXP takes a lot longer. I can record sometimes for 10 or 15 minutes before it freezes.

I thought it could be an IRQ problem and the only other thing using the same IRQ is my USB. Is it ok for something else to be using the same IRQ?

Here's a description of my computer if it will help diagnose the problem:
    AMD Duron 700mhz
    192 megs of RAM
4.2 gig HD (DMA is not enabled because it doesn't work for some reason)
    Gigabyte 7zm MB
    Winfast geforce2 video

  2. Are you using the ATi drivers? If so........they are JUNK. Get the ones for "btwincap" from sourceforge.net

You'll need to provide information on what tool you use for capture, what format, resolution, compression you setup for video and audio capture, etc... if you hope to get help here.

    Just my 2 cents...
Were it not for Lafayette and his brave French soldiers, American people would speak English today.
