Hello all'
First of all, what a truly amazing site, feel like I'm back in school again. My question is this, I have been trying to let a friend have some mpegs I have on CD, every time we attempt to "Copy CD" we get the "disk is copyrighted" message and nothing happens, the disk is obviously not copyrighted. We can copy the files to the desktop and then burn them from there so the CD is definitely accessible but this is a slow process, any ideas, do we have a setting incorrect? The burner is a Sony, the player is a Fujitsu I believe. I hope this is in the right forum, if not please accept my apologies.

What's happening after you get the message in Nero? Does it just abort or seem to do a successful burn and then nothing?Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack -
I get that message, but then it usually pops up with a message asking if i wany to continue. I click yes and away I go!
Does yours have the same message? -
Thanks for your quick replies. I get no message asking if I want to continue or not, the odd thing is, it must do something because after getting the "disc is copyrighted" message it appears that the CD becomes a coaster, we can't access the disc at all anymore.

The writer abviously starts writing then.
What does it do? Does the computer crash? Does it just eject the CD?
What are you copying? Is it just one thing or everything? -
It does nothing, puter doesn't crash or freeze in anyway, Nero just stops doing anything, hard drive is inactive so nothing is happening at all. Trying to copy a few Family Guy episodes burned simply as mpeg, not VCD.

Have you tried making a new data cd and copying direct for cd to cd-r that way instead of copying?
-
Sorry, not sure what you mean dave, I'm copying from cd to cd-r and the cd was burned as a data cd with Nero originally. As I said, we have no problem simply copying the files to the system's desktop, access to the cd then is fine, only when trying to copy from cd to cd-r are we getting the problem, hope this helped a bit.

Instead of trying to copy the cd using "copy cd" in nero, go to create new cd, then data cd (assuming it is a data cd at the mo) and drag the files from the cd-rom drive (with the existing cd) into the new cd window. Try burnin it that way.

Ahhhhhh, duh, now I gotcha, will give it a try, sounds like it should work, thanks for all your help!
