  1. Hi all,
    I am wondering what is the quickest software/method/etc to convert an avi file into VCD so it is playable on a DVD player??

    Since the encoding itself is the most time comsuming part of VCD creation, I guess you mean the quickest encoders.
    Yes, Ligos and Cinema Craft are supposed to be the fastest MPEG encoder.

  3. thanks truman, any idea how long it would take using one of these apps would be the process of encoding lets say a 600mb avi file??..

    It doesn't matter, how large your avi file is. It depends on the time/frames of the video and your CPU power. Maybe you need to resize the frames and add borders or change the color space from YUY2 to RGB or you need to deinterlace or you want to add subtitles or you want a sharper/blurrier video than the source. How could I say it....
