  1. Hi,

When buying cd-rw's is their any reason why you should choose a slower speed 1-4x against a faster one ie 8-10x?

    cheers

  2. I think it was an issue with earlier drives and slower computers. I always burn to the max speed of my drive (12x CDR, 10x CDRW) and have never had a problem. Some cheaper drives may have this problem but I suggest using a CDRW at max speed to see if it works. If it does then go with it. At least you haven't wasted a CDR.

  3. Grrrrr..........
There is one and clear reason to buy low-speed CD-RWs. If Your RW drive is not "High-Speed" compatible, it can not write High-Speed discs regardless the write speed You attempt. There is different write strategy used. My Pioneer DVR-104 (High-Speed) OTOH fails to recognize old 1-2x CD-RW as RW media.
This is problem with CD-RW media only.
