  1. Hello,
I'm kinda new to this whole cutting thing, and I was trying to cut a section of an mpeg2 I had encoded using TMPGenc before. However, when I click to edit the file and the window where you can choose the frames shows up, I can't use the slider at the bottom, and the { } buttons don't seem to work. Can anyone help me??

    Thanks.

That is Merge & Cut notorious crashing bug. Edit in TMPGEnc using the Source Range function. If you are using the wizard, it is the first option on the Filter Settings page. If you are using the main program, you find it by selecting Setting and choosing the Advanced tab.

  3. Um, however. When I try to go through the wizard to get to the Filter Range, I can't load the mpeg2. I get an error saying unsupported file, even though I used tmpg to encode it. It loads fine in the merge and cut menu, but not in the wizard or in the main program.

Assuming it is a registered version of TMPGEnc Plus or TMPGEnc that has not expired, try this tip:
If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
or you get an empty(black) video preview window
or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
    Hello.

  5. It is a registered version. I really do not know why it is giving me these errors or how to fix it. Is there another program that can do this or does anyone know a fix?

  6. this may sound like a silly answer but I had a similar problem!! I could not see the video when wanting 2 cut in in 2 splits. I eventuall found out the problem was down to directx of all things so a reinstall of this worked for me. the other thing is that tmpeg does not appear 2 like winxp very much & it refused to cut stuff till I revert back 2 win2k but this was just my preference.

    Kev!
