  1. I downloaded, and encoded a movie using tmpgenc, the movie came out terrible. I keep hearing(and reading) about birate and how to change it, I assume that this may have some effect on the quality of the video. When i'm using tmpgenc i am not allowed to change the birate for some reason or the other.Do i have to install another program in order to do this?Does changing the birate effect the video? If not then what will.Thanx guys.

  2. When using tmpgenc, first load you chosen template, then load 'unlock.mcf' which you will find in the extras folder of Tmpgenc. This will allow you to change any settings you please, incldung the bitrate.

Beware though, the supplied templates provide standard compliant mpegs, as soon as you exceed any of those settings (such as increasing bitrate) you are outside the standard for the chosen format and compatibility with playback devices will be reduced.
