I have a problem with a corrupt data segment in a DIVX file, and do not know how it happened. The segment is near the beginning of the file (frame 240 or so) and I would be happy just cutting the openining out and being able to play the end. I have tried using Virtual Dub and AVIChop, but can not seem to get past that 240th frame. I stripped the index with DivFix, but after that the file will not even open in either program. Is there something else I can try?
Thanks.

I have tried editing it with Virtual Dub, but the index is messed up, and when it starts, it only recognizes the file up to the 250 frames. Anything after that point, it does not recognize. Is there a way to force it to find after that point?

Okay, save it to a new filename. See if that works. VDub cannot write bad frames, it claims.
Hello. -
I saved the file with Virtual Dub, but it only saves to the 250 frame point. Once it gets to that point, it stops saving and says it was successful. The file that it creates works normally...
When i open the original file with Virtual Dub, it has to rebuild the index, which takes a very long time. After building that index, it seems to think the end of the file is at the 250 frame mark. Is there a way for it to see past that mark? Is there a program that will let me cut after that mark? -
I too had the same problem today with "Good Morning, Vietnam". My solution was - i rebuild the index with DivFix, then opened in Virtual Dub (now it didn't do missing construction block rebuilding) and saved a new copy using Direct Stream Copy in both Audio and Video. Let me know if that works for you.

I tried that, but the problem is DivFix rebuilds the index ending at the corrupted frame. After I open it in Virtual Dub, it will only go to the corrupted frame, then it thinks the file hits the end.
