my lazy ass finally got around to coding most of the new features I wanted for MediaPowerTool 0.6... i got rid of the two different versions in one because MediaPipe now only has one version.-- be CERTAIN to have MediaPiper 0.8.9 installed and also be sure to install the binaries.pkg before using MediaPowerTool 0.6-- there has only been one major feature update and it is:

added DVD->SVCD feature, (currently you can only chose seperate m2v and ac3 files, i find this easier because i always demux to elem streams for all the methods i use.)

i suggest you do the mpeg-2->mpeg-2 transcode in quicktime first, otherwise you will almost DEFINITELY run into sync issues UNLESS your source is PAL.

the rest of the updates are mainly aesthetic (got rid of the bondi blue color on the buttons and changed to black, and changed the icon/logo), other than that just some minor bug fixes..

future plans- i do plan on eventually adding an option for NTSC->PAL and vice versa (for each (s)vcd->dvd and dvd->svcd) i also want to add dvd->vcd as well(that will be the last thing added) the main things that will be added in near future versions are just the ability to control more features in mpeg encoding pipeline-- maybe ill add the ability to start with a vob file instead.. anyways enough of my blabbering-- the link

on this page i have also started compiling some tutorials that i've written over the past.. due to the new mediapowertool upgrade i have to change some of them slightly, but not too much.

let me know any comments, suggestions, questions

I thought you had hit something when my cpu encoded my vob superfast. But when i try to play it it is only 20 kb and is less than a second long. Plus half the screen is green. Is there something wrong with it?

you cant give the program VOB files. you need to give seperate m2v and ac3 streams--- you most likely will not get sync if you dont do the quicktime mpeg-2->mpeg-2 transcode first...unless your source is PAL.
