  1. I am looking to invest in a new DVD ROM for my PC.

    What is the best one with VCD ripping in mind???

    16x Lite On, thats what i got and it Rips DVD's great.

  3. Good. Thats what I was going to get.

    Got a Lite On CDRW and can't fault, especially with the price.

    What about CDRW? Lite On Still the best for that??

    Dont have a lite on CDRW. Just a generic one that came w/ computer.

    I've heard Plextor is the best CDRW, but you also have to pay big$ for it.

  5. I have heard and be reading that Pioneer is a very good and reliable DVD-Rom I bought a 12x Pioneer over a year ago and its been doing great, rips DVD's on XP at 6-8x speed using smartripper. Pluse a very quite DVD-Rom drive also.

  6. Lite-On does make some good drives - maybe not cadillac but certainly honda quality
