I also tried the Nero with my Win2000 computer. Same as you and wouldn't work well together with all those bugs and errors. The computer crashed so many times using the latest Nero version.

The OS is not the only problem, the CD burner is also not 100% compatible. My CD burner is a Sony CRX195A1 as this is a late model and Nero just released a new version to work with it. Problems are still there. How many more Nero fixes before it can work?

I just have to wait for a CD burner program to work 100%.

Well, I haven't been burning VCD's in a while, but... Never had any troubles with making VCD's , Svcd's with NERO 5535+ and win 2000 pro sp2 or sp3. What speed are you burning them at?
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  5. With Nero 5.5.9.14 under the ISO tab disable (uncheck) Joliet and re-burn. This should allow you to play the VCD's.

Same here m8, running Windows2000PRO SP3 and the latest Version of Nero and can read and write Vcd's and Svcd's without any problems.

And that include's buring them at 24xSpeed.

This worked and solved all my probs with VCDs not working in Win2k, although the original files created with joliet checked still don't work. Thanks.
