  1. I have used this tutorial to successfully rip dvd-9 to a dvd-r but I have one question.

    http://www.digital-forums.com/dvd2dvdr/

After using this tutorial I end up with a movie that is about 2.5 gigs which is great but I would like to know how to I keep the original menu system? I'm sure with 2.5 gigs of movie I can keep the orig menu but the tutorial doesnt go into that does anyone know how?

    Thanks

  3. 2.5GB is kind of little for a movie that is 1.5-to-2hours long.
    Did you re-encode it (transcode)?

Using below guide, you keep the original DVD quility
but mostly no room for menus or extras.

If the movie is really that small (2.5)GB you could copy the Menu-VOB
(VTS_02_0.VOB etc) and some of the extras.
So start the rip with the complete DVD and start deleting VOBS
that you know are "the making of this movie"

  4. I'm not sure what I did heheh I used dvdmaestro to make it smaller I guess? The movie is Animal House and after its done the movie is about 2.5 gig or so. Can I just go back to the full DVD rip (stored on my HD) and find the menu files and copy them over the dir where my output of dvdmastro is (the ripped movie only) and then burn to dvd-r? This probably doesnt make too much sense.

Does anyone know how to rip the movie but keep the menu system and get rid of all the unnecassary crap (extras, language) Kinda like what the dvd group boozers do to there dvd-r's (isonews.com)

    Thanks
