  1. Guys, I am using DVD2SVCD to convert an AVI with MONO audio and there's a major problem transcoding the audio. I understand that BeSweet needs the Mono2stereo plugin. I downloaded it. I launched Besweet manually and opened the mp2.wav file that was created by DVD2SVCD as input and checked the box for External Plugin and checked the DLL box name "BS_M2S.dll" and function "simple" I can see the Command line has changed to add

    -plugin( -name BS_M2S.dll -func Simple )

    Clicked on WAV to MP2

    It fails in .04 seconds and this is the log file besweet creates

    ----------->
    Error 72: In order to encode a Mono inputfile, download Mono2Stereo Plugin :
    http://DSPguru.doom9.org/effects.html

    Quiting...
    [00:00:00:000] Conversion Completed !
    Logging ends : 10/12/02 , 23:53:48.Error 72: In order to encode a Mono inputfile, download Mono2Stereo Plugin :
    http://DSPguru.doom9.org/effects.html
    <----------

    The BS_M2S.dll is in the same directory as the Besweet.exe

    I tried to go to the Command prompt and pasting the command line out as

    "e:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "d:\DVD\Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav" -output "d:\changes.mp2" -logfile "E:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.log" ) -ota( -r 23976 29970 -g max -fs 48000 ) -boost( 50.95 ) -2lame( -m s -b 224 -v 5 -e -D ) -plugin( -name BS_M2S.dll -func Simple )

    and get the same error.
    Can anyone tell what's happening here? It's like it's ignored the command to use the mono 2 stereo plugin.

    Thanks.

  2. Well, to work around this problem I loaded this WAV file in CCE and had it do the conversion. It worked this way but the sound crackles on high volumes. the authors of DVD2SVCD aren't kidding when they say CCE sucks at audio.

  3. I had the same problem when I had my ATI TV Wonder VE, which only captures mono audio. My solution, and it's an obvious one, is to put the whole AVI through Virtual Dub. Let the video be a "straight dub" (i.e. no processing) but process the audio, and convert from mono to stereo. Sorry, I don't have the program in front of me right now, but I'm sure you can find the right procedures in the program.
