I have a DivX movie with 23.989 Fps and I use TMPGenc to encod eit to a NTSC film SVCD. The only problme was that since the template and standard for NTSC film är 23.976 fps the movie turns out of sync really fast. I used the Source range filter to devide the movie into 2 SVCD files during convet and the sync is good in the beginning of both files... so I guess if I would convert as many files as there are frames in the movie.. and then join them, it would be in sync.. but damn... 63000 clips, don't think so. There must be a better way to do this, right? The movie is 87 minutes long
Is there a way to convert the DivX movie in Vitural Dub and only change the Framerate??? WITHOUT LOOSING THE A/V SYNC!!!
I really need help on this!

Ok maybe this will be a solution for you:
first open the divx in vdub]
the hit ctrl-r there wil popup a box called video frame rate control, then select: Change so video and audio durations match, then ok.
Then run auxsetup.exe (located in your vdub dir), select install handler and then ok
goto file -> start frame server click start and select a filename like test.vdr and save it.This wil provide you with a box called: Frameserver mode - VirtualDub, check
at the bottom of the box if you have: Frameclients installed: AVIFile only, if so
then start TMPenc load your svcd-ntscFILM or vcd-ntscFILM template after that
select for your video AND audio source test.vdr and finally
hit start (Normally he will do that automatically)
Just give it a try, I use this to convert a 23.976 ntsc film
to a palversion and it works everytime.

I extracted the Wave from the DivX via Virtual Dub and noticed that the wave is about 3 secods shorter than the movie... I so confused right now that I don't even know what to ask! How come the damn DivX looks okay if the audiotrack is SHORTER??

If you planning play your SVCD disk only on PC monitor, you
don`t need convert frame rate. If u want play on hardware
SVCD player or Hollywood+, use "3:2 pulldown" filter in
Tsunami enc. to convert 24 fps progressive film into 30 fps/
60 field/per/sec NTSC stream. And set "interlaced" in all coder options, where it is. -
I fixed it my own way (As usuall), Using Virtual Dub I extraxted the Audio as Wave... then I started vegas Video, imported both the Audio file and the Original DivX movie Set the project to the Framerate I wanted and moved the Audio until it was in Sync. About 3 Seconds later.. then i Rendered the whole thing again as a DivX... and then Encoded With TMPGenc 1.2i... might have been a studip way to do it but It work and the Quality is totally okay.
