missing 15 minutes when ripping tarzan and jane

I am using Smartripper 2.41 on Win98 to rip Tarzan and Jane. It will create 5 *.vob files. But when I run dvd2avi to create the *.wav file, I notice the first 15 minutes has no sound. Which means that when I use tmpgenc to make the mpeg file, I am missing the first 15 minutes. I have the settings on smartripper the same as sefy's guide. Do I need additional files or do I need to change some settings? Do I need to select a program chain and an angle in smartripper? Thanks

u ripped in movie mode, right?

smartripper will select angle 1 by defult, if there are multi-angles...stick with that.

did you try playing the vob files directly in windvd or powerdvd? see if the first 15 min in the vob files have sound....

how do I select the multi-angles? Or how can I tell if there are multi-angles? I was able to watch the entire movie using windvd and also on my dvd player. Thanks

the vobs u ripped onto your harddrive...play them on windvd/powerDVD and c if the first 15 min has sound...

i'm not talking about the original DVD, but the vobs u ripped..you can play them as normal files on windvd/powerdvd

Change your setting in SmartRipper to rip every chapter instead of vobs.

Here is what I found out. I can't view vts_01_1.vob, which is 744k. But when I can view vts_01_2.vob and the rest. I rip this cd sveral times and I get the same result. How do I set smartripper to rip the chapters instead of the vobs? What settings do I need? Thanks.

hrm...could be your smartripper messing up....have u tried dvddecryptor w/ multi-angle processing enabled?

Finally got it to work. Copy the first vob file (1gb) while smartripper is working on the second vob file. After smartripper is finished, notice the first vob file is 745 kb. Copy the first vob file (1gb) over the 745kb vob file. Then run dvd2avi.
