  1. I'm having a problem reading my burned dvd-rw disk anywhere except on the same computer and drive that it was created on. I have a Panasonic DVD-rw drive, using generic dvd-rw media. The movie plays fine on the original computer, but can't be played on my home DVD plaver. The disk can't even be read on another computer with a dvd reader! Am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

What kind of standalone DVD player do you have? DVD-RW plays in far fewer standalone players than DVD-R. Many computer DVD-ROM drives can't read DVD-RW either. I burn DVD-R and DVD-RW. My Pioneer 343 plays everything, my 2000-era DVD-ROM (NEC I think) drive can read DVD-R but not DVD-RW, and my iMac DVD-ROM drive can only read manufactured DVDs. Better/more expensive writable DVD media tends to play in more players than the cheap stuff.
