  1. when ive downloaded a movie in avi format it usually really crappy bcuz there are black and white spots everywhere popping up, it just sucks. please tell me what filter/codec i should use. I already have the divx codecs

    Open TMPGEnc. If the wizard opens, close it. Select the Settings function at the bottom of the screen. Select the Advanced tab. The options should be available there.

  5. thanks, the problem with the blocks popping up has been solved, but now some parts of the movie show strange colors mostly purple. can i fix this by adjusting the colorfilters or is it something else?
    the purple - like colors appear only in some parts.[/img]

    If you get an error message when opening the video or audio like file unsupported
    or you get an empty(black) video preview window
    or the video look wierd in the video preview window like green or purple or pink
    Be sure that you have installed the DivX Codecs (both DivX 3.11, 4 and 5) and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack. If that does not work try to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.

  7. I found out that ive only had divx 5 installed so i installed 4 and now all the avi´s run fine. thanx for the help
