Currently I am using 8mm and Hi8 tapes to capture sporting events on TV with my Sony Digital8 TRV-320.
Sometimes I use 8mm tapes and in the future I will use my Hi8 tapes. My question is, since they both record the Digital8 format...are they both the same quality? Also how unreliable is 8mm tapes with holding the Digital8 format? Is it really bad to rewind the tape alot of times? How durable is the tape and can the quality of the video on my 8mm tape last for atleast a few years without losing much quality so I can archive in then to a newer format or cheaper format?
