I have a avi movie file that i want to put onto 2 disks to watch on my DVD player. Easy everyone says!! Im a novice with little or no understanding but was told avichop, easy put in were you want to cut, click chop and there you go. I get half the movie no prob, but then it says an error occured and shuts down? Tried virtual dub, Too complicated (help)![]()

Why not convert all of the AVI to mpeg 1 VCD with TMPGEnc, then when you have the finished mpeg (With no problems) use TMPGEnc again but this type select mpeg tools > Merge&Cut to split the file in half.

Thanks very much king john, got it sorted now with TMPGEnc, easy when u know how isnt it lol.

Glad you got it sorted, that Merge&Cut can also be used without changing the source range to fix simple problems with mpeg 1, I have used it to stream a few mpeg 1 downloads, that were not quite fully compatible with the VCD standard.
