unknown format

im trying to rip the audio from a film and i get an error when i go to the properties in the movie file in audio it says unknown format any help plz

Help us to help you.

Where did you get the film from, what is it called, is it downloaded, capped or ripped, what program are you using to do this and that gives you the error, do you have all the right codecs installed, can you play the movie on your PC...

Any and all of this info might give someone the chance to answer your question, without it we would be guessing

You have a missing audio codec, download and install the Nimo "Lite" codec pack or serach Kazaa for the "KJ Codec pack"

the film is windtalkers.dvd.screener.divx-cd1.avi.....from ka..a i can play it in wm player but on tmpge theres no sound so im trying to get the sound with v/dub and db poweramp but no joy thanxs again

Ok, then you still have a missing codec

That will list what codec's you already have, is there a DivX in there ?

This will tell you EXACTLY what codec is needed and when

I saw your post about not being able to get the audio out of Windtalkers. There are many movies that have the unknown tag2000 audio compression. I used a program called Goldwave and was able to extract the sound to a .wav file. I hope you find this useful.

Well the last post here was Sep 18 14:23, however you should not need to used anything except Vdub and TMPGEnc.

unknown, means it has not found the codec on your system.

There are so many codecs, it takes time to install them "All" hnce the Nimo codec pack.
