I have just started to get in to capturing with my tv wonder VE and wanted to know how I can remove the commercals from my capture ,
I set my program to record while I'm at work and would like to keep some things that I record , but I don't want the commercals .
IE what programs are good for doing this , and the easiest way to do this.
I'm not new to encoding , as I have been doing do for a couple of years
I know I can cut and join but I was wondering if there was a program that I can chose what parts to cut and then join them all as it's recoding the files
thx all

For just straight TV shows that I plan on keeping that way I use the wmv format and a free vcr type app "MSDVR" for capture. The wmv format compresses very small for fairly good quality. Th big plus is that I can use ASFTools which has a link in the tools section of this site to quickly cut and join the pieces together. It also has a built in conversion to avi which I haven't really tested much but works. I have not tried to make any (x))s)vcd with this method because I just store the files on cd and watch them through my TV-out card when I have the time.
If you cap to avi its a little more difficult with virtualdub to make multiple cuts and rejoin cause it uses these segmented files. I have done it but not recently. Although, its easy if you just trim the beginning and end.
For mpeg, you can use the mpeg tools available in the file menu. There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
