  1. I have looked through all the ratings of the capture cards. I wanna know what the best one is at a decent price. I wanna be able to capture videos into SVCD format, and then be able to also have it capture at set times. I want something that has awesome quality and sound..... any suggestions ???

A cheap option is the Kworld DVD maker TV or, its clone, the Provideo 256T.

It has a hardware codec for MPEG (Cirrus Logic CS92210) but it looks like the audio is compressed in software.

The video capture quality is very good.

The audio quality is good, but not excellent.

The best feature is its price. I got mine for just $135 bucks.

If you get the Kworld DVD maker TV you will need to download and install Provideo 256T drivers because they are a lot better and provide a couple of new features.

  3. Are you looking for analog or digital video capture. You might check out what Pinnacle Systems has. They sell the Studio AV. It comes with an analog capture board and a copy of their Studio 8 software that will let you burn VCDs.
