can i make a vcd on a dvd thus getting more on to one disc since they hold 4.7 gig? I know i can vcd on to a cdr with no problems. Dvds dont hold that much since the video is so huge. I would like to put alot more shows in vcd format on a dvd so i can watch them on my home dvd player if possibe.
How do i do this?

You can use lower resolution and lower bitrate to store more min on a dvdr. www.vcdhelp.com/dvd#tech , as you can see is the vcd resolution within the dvd standard so if using it you could store several hundred of minutes / dvdr with vcd quality. After you made the mpeg you author it to dvd as usual.
If you like to convert old vcds to dvdr you can use this method www.vcdhelp.com/vcddvdr.htm
