Can someone point me to some place where the details of Visiontek Xtasy Everything are given. Visiontek's and nvidia's web site have none or too little info. I could not find even a manual anywhere.

I want to know if the break-out box requires separate power source. And if so, at what rating?

    Thanks.

  2. The box does not require a separate power source. It's powered through the video connection to the video card. That connection is a proprietary plug, not s-video.

Thx for the reply GreyHair but I found this pic at one of the reviews at http://www.nvmax.com/Articles/Reviews/VISIONTEK_PERSONAL_CINEMA/ which shows a power connector.

I am sure, they who have Xtasy Everything can tell this for sure. In that case, the picture may be misleading!

Any Xtasy Everything owners, can you put a link to the manual that is in pdf format? It'd be great help to all who have been banging their heads for want of more info.

    Thanks.

  5. Well. Three thoughts for you.

    1. If you have a pic that shows it has a power supply, why are you bothering to ask?

    2. What makes you think I don't own one?

    3. If you weren't going to believe a response you got, why post it?

I just bought the thing. It has a place on the box where it apparently used to have a power supply connector. But mine doesn't require any additional power source.

    Believe it or not.........

    Sheeesh.......

    Hey GreyHair

Thanks for you reply. For one, I never said or even hinted that you don't have that card. Since the pic at the review did not match with your description, I wanted to be sure of that. Consider that I'd be spending my hard earned 100+ dollars on the card and wanted to make sure that the card operates without needing additional power supply since I'd be taking it with me to overseas for use.

And I did not disbelieve you. There is a difference between disbelieving and investigating further.
Have n't you ever said to someone "Are you sure?" Why take it so personally?

    Thanks again for the info.

  7. Hi all,

I am an owner of this card. Here is some info:

    - Hardware: Based on NVIDIA G2MX400 chip. Video encoder/decoder chip: Philips SAA7108E (9-bit ADC). Video in: s-video, composite, and TV cable. Video out: s-video and composite.
    - Software: Intervideo WinDVR and WinDVD3

WinDVR ver 1 comes with the package has problems: Video and audio out of sync. I upgraded to version 2 ($15.00) from Intervideo web site. This requires to upgrade newer WDM driver from Visiontek and Directx 8.1.

I can capture from WinDVR to VCD, SVCD, and DVD. It only gives me CBR. If you need VBR then run through another MPEG-2 encoder.

  8. Ok I just got this card, it took awhile and some messing with drivers but I have it up and working. I'm using videowave to capture, and I'm getting sync no problem. Just wanted to pass that along. These guys seem to have no support so I guess we all need to stick together.
