Ok I have a Samsung M101 i bought it a while back and it doesnt play cd-r/w but some people have had some luck with certain brands of cdr's and what not if you give me the exact model number of the cdr's that would be better. Or maybe theres some other with maybe a boot disc or some sort!! i wanna play vcd's thats the main reason i finnaly got one of these cd burners!!!

Samsung is known for making DVD players that dont support CDR, which is the case with DVD511 and yours might be the same thing (it is because the laser reader can decode only DVD standard or something very near to that). Good news is - there are certain CDR brands that will still play in Samsung DVDs even if the manual says it wont. Best one by far was PRINCO 24*, but they have ceased trading due to some royalty issues (you still might be able to get them from some suppliers with bigger stock reserve but it will be hard) so the only one left (that i know) at the moment is VIVASTAR 650MB CDR 32* - even suppliers put in the description for these CDRs that it is compatible with Samsung DVDs.
