I'm trying to capture from PAL60 (NTSC on PAL VCR playback) in order to make some VCD.
I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV PCI with modified WDM drivers (under Win2K, 1GBRAM, 1.2GHZ Athlon, 30GB HD- no other program running).
With AVI-IO (the only program which synchronizes audio and video over the whole time), I'm getting a lot of dropped frames, when using any of the compressions:Huffyuv and Morgan Multimedia mjpeg (the pegasus mjpeg gives only pixelated frames).
Only when I use uncompressed, I got not dropped frames. But this results in about 2GB files for 5 min. What I doing then, is to VDub to convert this footage with any one of the compressors to reduce file-size.
After that, I can combine alle the clips with ulead MS and convert the whole to NTSC-VCD.
I'm capturing with 29.97 f/s and 352x240 framesize.
The describes process is very tedious and time comsumpting.
Is there any way, to compress the movie during capturing withou dropped frames (the rate was up tp 50%)?
(the tape is 100% quality)
