    Can they increase the size of blank DVD-R to 5GB or lager?

    well, commercial single layer dvd's store up to 4.3gb and i can't see single layer 5gb dvd-r's been released. even if they are possible to produce i think a lot of dvd drives would have trouble reading them because they are over the old 4.37gb limit.
