ok, first post so make it a doosey

when encding a Divx file in Tmpgenc, this is what i get

now the films only about 2 hours long, but when i try to encode it, there's always a huge section at the end of the film which is just blank. if i try and stop it when the actual movie stops, there's no sound

i'm probably missing something so obvious here, but can someone help me out?

I'm no expert myself but looking at your screen shot I've got to ask, are you cutting the film into 3 or most likely 4 sections ( I see you are trying to burn to SVCD format).

Oops!, no your'e not (SVCD), but it will still need editing into 2 or 3 sections.

i will be cutting the film, but not into four section. i'll be cutting the film into two as it's only a two hour film.
the point is there's this huge gap at the end of the film that doesn't need to be there and i was wondering if anyone could tell us how to get around it without having to encode all that useless blank screen

Is the gap there in the original file or is it there after you have encoded it?.

  6. Use Virtualdub and reencode the sound into wav and leave the video untouched, you will get a larger divxfile with wav sound instead of mp3,but now it will work with correct playtime

  8. I have convert a lot of divx into vcd and svcd and I have been facing the same problem as you, just load the movie into virtualdub, set the Video at direct stream copy and the sound at full processing mode, check the high quality at Audio Conversion, interleave audio every 500 ms,Compression at No compression PCM,and the save the file.
