Burning DVD Image file in Nero - possible?

Can anyone point me to a guide to burning an .img file within Nero (5.5.9.9)? I have established already that my player only reads discs burned as image files, and I currently do this with DVD Decrypter.
However, DVD Decrypter doesn't seem to like any media other than +RW. I would like to use +R as well.

My player will not recognise at all the "usual" Nero burn methods of burning the VIDEO_TS folder from the HD (I have tried UDF/ISO and DVD-VIDEO modes).

So I want to establish whether Nero .img burns to +R and +RW will be recognised by my player. I use the Decrypter > Ifoedit > ImgTools route to create the .img file ready to burn.

Can anyone help?
