  1. Hey,

Does 90 and 99 minute CD-Rs work well with most DVD Players? I have a Pioneer 343, and I wanted to know if its worth buying larger CDs.

Also I was wondering if most devices can read such disks well, even if you DON'T burn all the way up to 90/99 minutes? I would hate to buy such disks only to find out that even if you burn a small amount of data, it still doesn't get read very well (Due to the tight winding of the track(.

I have a Pioneer DV 344, and regularily use 90 minute CD R's with Nero,
I get 93 minute movies on two CD's in SVCD format, or one 90 minute movei
    in VCD format.

  4. Im not sure if the Pioneer 343 is the same as the 344. Basicly some people say 90 to 99 Minutes is unreliable, and others say they work fine. If you buy them in bulk, It would suck if you found them not to work well.

Pioneer dv-333 & jvc xv-fa900bk both appear to play 90 minute disks without a problem.

  6. There was a report on 90/99min discs on Tom's Hardware Guide not too long ago...

From memory, 90min discs will probably work okay on most newer drives while compatibility of 99min discs are a little bit more dodgy (especially at the extremes).

    Regards.
