  1. i am using tmpgenc plus, virtualdub, nero 5.5, all the codec's, tried several template's from the internet, tdk cd-r's, on a 450+ mhz system with 192mb ram with a 32 mb ati rage 128 video card and all up to date player's, codec's and i have a problem with divx avi's having small purple block's in the video and slightly out of focus and tried all the filter's in both tmpg and virtualdub with no luck then i encoded them anyway and the dvd player (samsung s221)-(i encoded them to ntsc vcd and also tried ntsc film vcd) show's the same result's. what am i overlooking or not doing?

  2. Do you have the angelpotion codec loaded? If so this
is the likely source of your problems - dump it. Maybe
take the time to clean out any codec's you don't use.

The codec is listed as SMR, make sure you dont have it.

Where are these AVI's coming from ?, if they are ones you have downloaded, that is "Normal" you wont improve them, you need to get a better copy when available.

If they are ones you are making, then its a codec fault, if there is no SMR, uninstall all the codec's, and add them back one at a time until the problem comes back.
