    Hello all,

    I'm trying to capture my screen so I can record a game, and the file is being compressed by FFdshow, which is encoding with DivX 3 and the FourCC is MP43.

    The problem is: when I play the file back it ends up with purple areas, following some movement as if it were an effect.

    Can anyone help me fix this? It would be appreciated.

    Switch to a more modern codec with less spotty support. Like Xvid. At least make sure that ffdshow, not some other decoder, is decoding the MP43 as well as encoding with it.
