  1. i'll just b sitting here n i'll here that booobeep sound which is usually played when u unplug a device, now i'm trying 2 rip some stuff and after about 10 minutes it stops and a box pops up saying the DV device is blah blah not able 2 control cuz it seems 2 have put itself to sleep...then when i unplug the firewire plug from it and plug it back in..it beeps....its fine and ready 2 go again..what the hell is the deal?

  2. What kind of Firewire card are you using? My DV-Bridge sometimes disappears, but usually only after a much longer time period than you seem to be experiencing , and it comes back after unpowering it and repowering the DV-bridge. Occasionally, my system loses its Firewire capability and I have to reinstall the Audigy software.
    What OS are you using and how current are the Firewire drivers for your card? I don't have much idea what might be the problem, but maybe the additional info will catch some's attention.

  3. I'm using XP pro w/ SP1 and i'm using the card that came w/ the DV-bridge


    c it doesn't vanish when it disables itself...its still there but u can't control it unless u unplug it then plug it back in.....

    Mine looks like it says Indigita Corp. IDT 481 PCI.

    I don't use it, my machine has onboard firewire. And I don't have your problem. The DV bridge does mess up the machine if I boot with the bridge connected, but that is easy to solve. Just connect after booting.
    Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
