Can someone please post the order of pipe adds for converting a VOB to a SVCD with Media Pipe. Everyone raves about how great the program is but it is one of the sloppiest pieces of software I have ever used. I can't get it to do anything at all.

    Thanks

  2. Not sure about doing vcds, but first you need to add the video to mediapipe. To do this, click on File Browser in the pipe list, then click Add. A box will popup that will let you select the video. After that, just start selecting the pipes you need and click Add. Basically, you are just setting up the order that the video gets processed.

Hi. For some reason I couldn't post to this thread for quite a while.

Okay, if your problem that the app crashes at various times? First, if it crashes upon startup, you probably have tried to install it more than once. If you have multiple copies of pipes and such on your machine, it will crash. I search for anything with "pipe" in it and delete it if necessary, then reinstall. You may also try doing a system install of mediapipe instead of local, if that's what you have done.

Make sure that you don't have any spaces or special characters in the names of any disks or folders in the path to the application, library folder, or media files. As an extra measure, I put the app on the same partition as the media files, and that helps.

After you have demuxed the VOB, add these pipes to Mediapipe: File browser, color conversion, deinterlacer scaler, mpeg encoder. I think; I don't do many SVCDs.

Once you avoid crashing issues, mediapipe is great. I wouldn't call it sloppy, since it does just about everything Cleaner did, and is free.

to add to the last post, not only does it do everything cleaner does and is free, its also 10x faster than cleaner, hopefully discreet will up the bar with cleaner 6 since cleaner 5 is a dismal failure of a program. Look forward to mediapipe 0.9-1.0 i think they are workin to make it more user friendly and more like press one button to input file and select a setting then press encode, from what i hear that is the direction they will be going in
