    I m looking to get a new dvd player and would like to know what everyone has found to be the best in burning dvd's. I heard standalones are the best,according to this websites compatibilty ratings anyway.

    I Don't quite understand what you are looking for, a Standalone DVD Player, a DVD Burner, or a PC DVD-ROM drive.

    I heard the Utobia drive is a good one, It's gotten alot of awards. I can't vouch for it though.

    If you are looking for a DVD-ROM drive, then I would highly recommand Pioneer, they have great drives, I use them on all 3 of my PC's, and I can vouch for their great performance.
