I'm new to this game but I ripped a movie with SmartRipper. I then used DVDx to encode to an mpeg and then I burned a video CD with Power CDR Express. I played the movie on my Pioneer DVD player with the following problems:
1) The movie appears in the upper right corner of the TV screen at probably 1/6 the size it should be and
2) The dialogue was not synched to the action
Anyone able to help?
Thanks..>N![]()

When you use DvdX, stop it after a few minuets and check the output, if its not correct then select "output" from the menu and change the Zoom to something else "None letterbox" > "Full 16:9 or 4/3"
Also from the input set the framerate to either match the source, or if you want to convert change it to what you want (This does give problems sometimes)
There are some VOB's it don't likeand you may need to use "Flask" which will prevent the lip sync, or you may need to increase the Mux rate, this can happen when it finishes one VOB and starts on the next.

You could try using version 1.7 of DVDx. Later releases are still
causing some people headaches especially over v2.0 and the
lip sync issue.
re: picture size: follow what kingjohn said, the settings must take
into account the source ratio. If in doubt do a test -> you can restart
without having to fiddle with video frame server.
ps: There are other methods to rip besides DVDx. Have you
tried DVD2SVCD or VCD Easy ?
