  1. I just "obtained" CCE Lite version. Can anyone tell me why it won't accept a .d2v file from DVD2AVI? How do I get a plain AVI file after a dvd-rip?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Well... The "preferred" method I'd use (since it only involved GUI programs)...

You'll want to grab the VFAPI Converter program. It can convert either .d2v files, or TMPGEnc project files, into a "fake" AVI.

Personally, I use TMPGENc to open the DVD2AVI file. I encode Audio with TMPGEnc, then save the video (only) as a separate project file.

Then I run the TMPGEnc project file thru the VFAPI proggy (takes 2 seconds IF YOU ONLY DID VIDEO)...

Then open up that .avi directly into CCE!

I like this way since you can use TMPGEnc to resize, filter, source range, and it all translates to the project file AVI. You just don't have to use TMPGEnc's fairly crappy MPEG-2 encoding...

The VFAPI Converter should be somewhere under "tools"..

  3. If you are comfortable working outside of the GUI environment, however, the preferred method by far is to use Avisynth to frameserve because it is much faster and doesn't involve any colorspace conversions. There are some excellent guides available to help you with using Avisynth.
