Divx To Vcd With Good Quality PLEASE HELP!!

Hi

I have downloaded a 700mb movie that i am really pleased with the quality,

but when i go to convert it with TMPGENC, it only can do 0-330 video bit rate, which makes the video quality Very bad and blocky.

i have tried loads of encoders but i have been told that TMPGENC is the bets one.

Please can someone help me as, on my pc the movie is brilliant quality but wen i try to convert it the quality is rubbish.

Please can anyone help me on my problem??

split your avi in two with v-dub. Open tmpgnc and unlock the template then up your bitrate to around 1800 to 2100 depending on size of movie. Burn on two cdr's.

kjmacke's suggestion is a good one....but I suggest you do a batch encode with TMPGE and using the source range split in two.
(splitting the avi/divx can sometimes lead to problems when encoding seperately)

I seem to have found a better way. I dont understand why this works, but it seems to work most of the time when this happens. Instead of splitting it in two, just set the start and end frames. Just 'move to end frame' and set it there. With the last three movies Ive encoded, I've found this works. I was able to encode at over 800 instead of 220!

Perfect video on my 25" tv.
