  1. when I try to burn it it says that it is not MPEG format, but the movie says it is, I tried re-encoding with TMPGEnc but it will not let me. is there anyway I can re-encode the MPEG to burn it vcd? tried burning with nero 5.5. and tried to re-encode with nero but it will only encode 21 minutes of a 50 min movie.

  3. It says the file already exists. do you want to overwrite? when I click ok, another window pops up saying, the file cannot be created. is there a way I can change the MPEG format to something else and then re-encode it to MPEG and burn it?

  6. Ok, for the record you are trying to convert an avi to a MPEG1, to burn it as a VCD. Have you read Sefy's Guide to the left on how to do this (either way read them again).

What template are you loading in TMPGenc? What settings are you using? Does the avi encode? Can you play the MPEG file you generated with media player? etc. etc.

How are you burning it with nero? Are you choosing the 'burn VCD' from wizard? What about CDI and 'standard complatation(sp)' <sorry about the spelling>

Lots of things could be wrong, but if you can't play the MPEG file with media player you made a mistake somewhere. Most likely didn't load the a template. But we need more info, sorry...

  7. It works but i tihnk you misunderstood...

Maybe here's a clearer picture using TMPGEnc...

    -----
    Video Source: C:\files\x.mpg
    Audio Source: C:\files\x.mpg

    Output Filename: C:\files\x2.mpg
    -----

Both the file CANNOT have the same filename, TMPGEnc does NOT allow overwrite of filename...
