FujiFilm always worked well for me. I've never gotten a memorex cd to work for me...they all crash my computer.

I abuse most of my cds and they are played where I work, which is a noisy factory. The cheapest ones are the best, in my case.

  4. CDR's that use Taiyo Yuden dye. 50pk Fujifilm use this kind of dye, Kodak are also good.

  5. My bet is TDK. I never had problems with any brand and for data I use the cheapest ones I find. I buy a pack of 25 CDs 0.35€ cents each ehehe

I never tried one of those Audio only CDs and the only rumour about them that i've heard is that the difference between them and the regular CDs consists on a porcelain layer to protect from scratches

The Memorex CD's that I see in the store are sometimes cheap ones made in Taiwan or good ones that are Tayio Yudens made in Japan (same as Fuji). So if Memorex is on sale, then only buy it if it is made in Japan.

The made in Taiwan Sony's suck, but if you can find a made in Japan Sony spindle, then they are probably Taiyo Yuden's and are quite good. I still see them around sometimes.

  8. I always recommend the same 2. Verbatim and TDK. Both have served me well for data, music, VCD, ghost backup and pretty much everything. And the TDK are always on sale and have rebates

  9. Kodak Ultima and Verbatim DataLife Plus.

  12. I have one 16 pack of black cdr from Compusa. Most of them I use only for Audio CD. Why? "becuz it looks cool".

I don't think it will make much different thou. some said Black Layer will protect scartch better than others. Some also said it will last longer than other. I don't know and I don't see any different but one thing I know for sure it's more expensive than others .
