Does this actually work OK on standalone players? I couldn't get Nero to burn as I kept getting "unspecified error". Only my DVD-R drive can read the one film I made as UDF/ISO. Maybe I did something wrong.

  2. Hello.. My opinion is that the UDF/ISO mode is identical to the DVD Video mode but without the stringent checks that the DVD Video mode does.

Ive quite often tried to use the DVD Video mode and Nero bitches that something is wrong with the file structure (this has even happened on direct DVD rips that I know are OK !) so i use the UDF/ISO mode instead and Ive had no problems . I have an Afreey LD2060 player that is very forgiving about minor authoring errors but my PS2 is less so.

    Hope this helps

In my experience Nero has been too hit and miss with DVD burning (UDF/ISO and DVD-Video).
I changed to Prassi Primo (now RecordNow?) a while back and it is 100% reliable.

I have always burned with UDF/ISO and if ya ask me any failed burns using it with the correct settings is a problem with the files themselves and not the burn meathod... Its worked perfect since I got my drive some months ago.

  6. yeah i agree, now I know which discs to use (I like FWS and Datasafe) any problems I have playing my DVDs on my standalone are down to authoring errors and not burning errors. I use Nero 5599 with my A04 and everything works fine !
