Hi,
I live in the US, and I want to send some home video to a friend who lives in Europe. He has a VCD player (not a DVD player) and a "clever" TV which understands both PAL and NTSC, which means if I hooked up my NTSC camcorder to his TV, I'd be able to play my videos just fine.
My question is, will his VCD player complain because the VCD is in NTSC format? Does one need different players for PAL and NTSC VCD's?
Thanks!

Most/all stand-alone VCD and DVD players will play both PAL and NTSC discs just fine.
Smarter ones will be able to convert between standards on the fly.
However, since your friend has a multisystems TV, he won't have any problems either way.
