  1. ok, I got rid of a couple problems on my own...but
    now I am stuck.
I converted an avi to vcd, but the quality is pretty bad,
in the sense that when watching on tv it looks
like a bunch of small little squares on the tv screen.
you notice it especially on peoples faces in the movie.
I know when converting the quality gets worse but....
    thanks!

  2. Hmm, macroblocks.

What software do you use to encode to VCD-compliant files?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

Don’t expect miracles, if the source is crap so will the VCD be crap.
If the source is anything other than a DVD rip, your VCD is not going to look very good at all.

Make sure you load a VCD template in TMPGEnc, if the original size is small, don’t re-size it up or it will look worse.
