  1. I have Pioneer DV-535 with region hack. I dont know what kind of chip it contains(it was installed in a store). I have once selected automatic region select and I'm not sure if it is removed when I manually select one region.

Then I have Boogie Nights DVD which is R2, but is a swedish release released by Sandre Metronome(www.sandremetronome.se).

When I put the DVD into the player the player tries to load it for a little while and then just says "DISC CANNOT BE DISPLAYED".
There is nothing wrong with the DVD because it works on my PC with Creative PC-DVD and it even works on my roommates DVD player which is Pioneer DVD-535 also, but without the region hack.

Any suggestions what I might try next? Have anyone had same kind of problem??

Oh and btw the DVD player is Region 2 player(bought from finland).

  2. As far as I know, its not possible to make a Pioneer player region free by using the remote to enter a 'hack'.

    HOWEVER

If you check out my post titled:

All PIONEER Owners, want REGION FREE - w/no hardware mods?!?

You should be able to play DVDs from any other region.

PLEASE, PLEASE! Vote on the poll connected to my post, even if this doesn't work - no-one yet has even replied but as far as I can see, there are no other multiple-machine pioneer hacks apart from mine! Where's all my thanks?!? Just kidding!
