  1. I'm a newbie in tv capture cards and I am thinking of buying a USB device rather than opening up my computer to install a card.
    PLEASE HELP!!

    1) What are the best USB devices at capturing tv/video w/ audio?
    2) Has anyone tried the USB version of Dazzle Video Creator II? Any good results?
    3) I've seen Nogatech USB devices being sold on Ebay. Are these good at capturing tv/video?

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Dont even think about doing decent captures with a USB device. Get a PCI device.

  3. I agree, i have heard nothing but negatives form USB video capture... Installing a PCI card is extremely easy! If you have a HP or Compaq and maybe some other popular brands go to the help and type in installing PCI cards

It IS possible to capture decent video using a USB capture device. However, only hardware-encoding MPEG capture devices are capable. (Like the Dazzle DVC) The USB port is just too slow to support uncompressed video streams.

    First things first though...
...you need to decide what you plan on doing with a video capture device. THAT answer will drive many of your later decisions.
